North Middlesex Historical Society
Our Mission
The purpose of this society is to help to preserve the past of the area comprising North Middlesex, namely the former Municipalities of Ailsa Craig, Parkhill, East and West Williams and McGillivray. We do so in a thoughtful and organized way to ensure that future generations of this area will understand their heritage to facilitate an appreciation of the present. We will preserve our history in the form of a museum in the former Ailsa Craig Baptist Church, 159 George St., Ailsa Craig, as well as a research room & archives in the former Trinity Anglican Church at 158 Church St., Ailsa Craig. This organization is strictly non-profit, and all monies gained will be used to preserve and maintain our assets.
The donad hughes annex msueum
Located at 159 George St., the Donald Hughes Annex Museum acts as the village's centre of history. It sits in what used to be the Baptist church, but now acts as a gallery and collection room.
The exhibits feature an eclectic mix of local and sometimes not-so-local artifacts. With over 10,000 artifacts in the collection, there is always something new being put on display. The displays change regularly, so visit often!
