Ailsa Craig & District Historical Society
Youth Advisory Committee
We always need more youth and teens willing to share ideas and suggestions on how to make the museum a better place for youth and teens. If you are in grades 6 – 12, the Ailsa Craig & District Historical Society is looking for members from Parkhill, East Williams, West Williams, McGillvray, and Ailsa Craig to help shape the future of our museums and learn how museums operate.
In addition to creating exhibits of interest to the youth and teen age group, there are many benefits to being a part of the Y.A.C. at the Ailsa Craig Museum, including:
Y.A.C. involvement looks great on college and university applications!
Participants are expected to attend 1 hour-long meeting each month plus any time required to create their planned exhibit. There are also opportunities to participate in special programs or events. Participation is evaluated on an ongoing basis and is supervised by the museum curator and the Chair of Museum Operations and Collections Management.
We currently need volunteers who would like to participate in the Parkhill and Ailsa Craig Santa Claus parades!
If you are interested in becoming a Y.A.C. member, please visit the museum, see our website at or contact us by email. We are also on Facebook, just search Ailsa Craig and District Historical Society!
What would you like to see your Youth Advisory Council do in 2010/2011? We'd love to hear from you!
